Update on Levidian's expansion into the UAE
In November we unveiled ambitious plans to establish our first international base in Abu Dhabi.
We’re on track to have an entity legally registered this month and are delighted to have appointed a new Managing Director to lead the charge on our growth in the Middle East and North Africa.
We’re already hard at work identifying possible locations for our first global Regional Delivery Centre, which we hope to open in 2025. This will serve as a central hub for Levidian in the Middle East and is expected to create around 250 jobs in manufacturing and R&D.
Levidian is already partnering with some of the region’s biggest businesses including Tadweer Group who we’re working with on a first-of-its-kind pilot to capture the carbon from biogas at one of Abu Dhabi’s largest landfill sites. The pilot will also support further upstream carbon savings by using graphene to boost the performance of materials like concrete, batteries, and polymers.
We’re also preparing to deploy a LOOP to decarbonise gas processing at an ADNOC gas facility, as part of a collaboration between Levidian, ADNOC and Baker Hughes designed to advance the energy transition.
Colin Elcoate, Managing Director for the MENA region, said: “I’m excited to be joining the incredibly talented team at Levidian. The company’s world-leading decarbonisation technology is a game changer in tackling some of the hardest-to-abate sectors on the planet - I can’t wait to start growing the business and seeing the impact of our work.”
