Baker Hughes to deploy LOOP to ADNOC gas facility
Levidian LOOP technology will be deployed to decarbonise gas processing ahead of COP28 as part of a strategic collaboration between ADNOC and Baker Hughes to advance the energy transition.
Signed at the UAE Climate Tech Conference in Abu Dhabi, the agreement will see a LOOP20 system deployed at an ADNOC Gas facility. This will be the first LOOP deployment to a gas facility, where it will be field-tested to capture carbon in the form of high-quality graphene and hydrogen. In addition, the graphene produced will be evaluated and then utilised for research on industrial applications in the UAE.
“Deploying a LOOP to a gas facility further expands our understanding of our technology and demonstrates its flexibility alongside our other deployments,” comments Levidian CEO John Hartley. “LOOP showcases the reality of practical, innovative solutions to addressing climate change – a key theme of this year’s COP28. This deployment is the first step in building a long-term collaboration using LOOP technology to drive decarbonisation.” - John Hartley, CEO at Levidian
